In preparation for our Rome seminar, 4 Enoch presents a comprehensive survey of Women Authorship on Second Temple Judaism and Christian Origins in scholarship and the arts. From the Renaissance to the present, women authors, novelists, and scholars have given an exceptional contribution to our understanding of the period. In particular, the 4 Enoch entries offer the opportunity to rediscover the pioneering role played by figures such as Lucrezia Tornabuoni, Madame de Scudery, Maria Gustava Gyllenstierna, Hannah Adams, Elizabeth Stanton, Agnes Smith Lewis, Margherita Guarducci, Annie Jaubert, and many others.
